Douglas began his career as an apprentice at a small, family owned workshop in North Geelong. Working on all makes and model vehicles, he gained invaluable knowledge that included servicing as well as diagnostics and mechanical repairs.
Wanting to develop his skill set, and focus more on diagnostics and the cause of mechanical faults, Douglas progressed his career to Advanced Service Centre in Grovedale. Through his employment at Advanced, he learned how to identify more complex mechanical issues and worked towards resolving the issues that would arise.
Fermie then progressed to Geelong West Automotive specialising in Volvo, Peugeot, Renault and Citroen. Through this, he gained expansive skills in a wide range of European made vehicles that he would soon put to use in the development of his own business.
In 2018, Douglas founded Affirmative Auto initially as a mobile mechanic, before finding a home for the business on Torquay Road in Grovedale.
Jack has always had a knack for mechanics, having built multiple cars at a young age with his father, and successfully restoring a family members car that included panel and paint work.
Jack commenced Certificate 2 in Mechanics at the Gordon Institute of TAFE in 2016, and started his apprenticeship at Advanced Service Centre, Grovedale in 2017. Shortly after, he continued his employment at Grovedale Car Care to expand his knowledge, and experience in the industry.
In September 2018, Giddings joined the team at Affirmative Auto as a second year apprentice where he is looking to complete his apprenticeship, and become a fully qualified technician. With careful guidance and support, he is sure to excel in every aspect of the workshop.
Jay has a vast experience in administration and customer service that never fails to disappoint. McDougall started early to build his knowledge in systems and administration working for Ace Radio in 2015 as an announcer and content control manager. In 2017, Jay progressed his skill set as a Customer Services Administrator at Auto X Car Care, liaising with not only customers, but multiple insurance companies, and a range of contractors to ensure customers were back on the road in no time.
Joining the team in January 2019, Jay is committed to providing service above and beyond expectation to make sure the customer always feels welcome when booking their next vehicle service at Affirmative Auto.
